What's Happening In Jiu-Jitsu
-The IBJJF American National Championships happened in Las Vegas, NV with Gracie Barra taking the overall team title. Champions at black belt included Helena Crevar, Sarah Galvao, Mo Black, the Funegra twins, Tarcisio Santos, and Gui Fernandes. Find all the gi results here and all the no-gi results here.
-The IBJJF No-Gi Brazilian Nationals went down, with some really notable champions. Athletes on top of the podium included Julian Espinosa, Gabriel Brod, Thaynara Victoria, and Ingridd Alves. 2025 World Champions Pawel Jaworski, Elisabeth Clay, and Tarik Hopstock all won gold to keep their Grand Slam campaigns alive, with Clay and Jaworski winning the open class. -Polaris has announced their bracket for their July 11th -77kg GP. Of note, champion Szczecinski (or whoever beats him) will be defending his belt in every match. First round matches will be;
- Mateusz Szczecinski vs Deandre Corbe
- Carson Coles vs Michael Liera Jr.
- PJ Barch vs Taylor Pearman
- Sebastian Patyk vs Tommy Langaker
-BJJ Stars has announced the final few participants for their upcoming masters absolute GP; Horlando Monteiro, Gregor Gracie, Jaime Canuto, and Felipe Carmona will complete the bracket at the July 31st event.
-FloGrappling launched a dedicated Portuguese Instagram channel to better serve the Brazilian community.
-Owen Jones picked up an upset win over Fabricio Andrey at ONE Championship ONE Fight Night 44. Jones won a decision off the back of his submission attempts, including a deep leg entanglement.
-Jay Rodriguez will return to competition at Karate Combat 62 in Miami, FL, as will Simple Man teammate Ethan Crelinsten.
-ACBJJ 21 has announced a few matches, including Kaynan Duarte vs Alibi Orazbek and Dante Leon vs Pedro Marinho.
-King Charles III visited the Roger Gracie Academy in London for a celebration of the cultural impact of the martial art on the community. Gracie presented the royal with a white belt.
