Grappling Bulletin: Polaris 37, Helena Crevar, UFC BJJ 9, & More

What's Happening In Jiu-Jitsu

-Polaris 37 went down in Dublin, Ireland, and it was a raucous night that say Team Polaris beat Team BJJ Stars in squads action by a score of 20-10. Especially notable was the late inclusion of purple belt Callun O'Malley, a purple belt who has only been training a few years who was able to secure a submission win over ADCC veteran Ruan Alvarenga.

-In the feature match of the evening, Helena Crevar defended her -70kg Polaris Championship with a submission win over Amanda Pamela Nicole. This marks Helena's sixteenth submission win in a row, dating back to her decision victory over Adele Fornarino at CJI 2.

-UFC BJJ 9 happened in Las Vegas, with Mason Fowler retaining his promotional championship belt by submission. Also picking up wins were Ffion Davies, NIck Rodriguez, and a returning Gilbert Burns among others.

-UFC BJJ also announced that their next card will feature Brianna Ste-Marie taking on Rebeca Lima for their featherweight title. Also in action will be Andrew Tackett, Cassia Moura, and Adele Fornarino.

-Fight to Win 317 went down in Seattle, Washington. The most notable grappler on the card would likely be black belt World medalist Maria Ruffatto-Gilpin, who won by submission.

-The IBJJF held another Open in Rio, this one serving as an important warm up for the kids divisions with the Kid's Brasileiro happening this upcoming weekend.

-Emily Leyva has signed a multi-match contract with Polaris to appear on their events.

-Sub Hunter Pro 103 went down in Texas. Notable on the card was Sebastian Attard defeating Dylan Melton by armbar in a rematch of their 2024 WNO bout. Attard is next in action at the ADCC Asia & Oceania Trials.

-Sub Hunter Pro 104 is set to feature a welterweight GP with $5,000 on the line. Entrants include Nick Mataya, Logan Marshall, Kolby Gonzalez, and Raaj Duwan.
