It was a perfectly sunny (but not too hot) weekend to wander around downtown Durham and enjoy an Art Walk designed to showcase its revitalization. I was dragged to a few too many craft fairs as a child, and unfortunately I now tend to think that most local arts vendors kind of…aren’t super good…and there’s only so many beaded earrings one can purchase. So, the city itself was indeed the biggest attraction. But, I’m glad Durham has such events, and I hope the jewelry makers and pottery people did decent business. I’ll totally buy a useless trinket the next time, promise!
Still lovin’ – the American Tobacco Campus and DPAC, the cleaned-up Main Street area, and some delicious Southern grub. My friend Dani had already proven her worth by recommending that we track down the OnlyBurger truck, whose location you can follow on Twitter. So, we knew it was safe to take another one of her recommendations and gobble down the brunch at Watts Grocery. Our haul included sunny-side-up eggs, biscuits, hash browns, strawberry caramel French toast, and dark chocolate churros…not too shabby!
