Here We Go Devils, Here We Go!

Duke basketball is easy to love, and tonight I was reminded of a few reasons why:

1.  Fellow Duke pride runs deep enough that season ticket holders were willing to sell a couple of seats at face value to two very happy alums!  Thanks for saving us from the creepy scalpers!

We made it into Cameron!

2.  Our tent city is insane.  Both truly insane, and insanely fun.

It's not snowing in K-ville - just my camera being weird with the light.

3.  Our fans exude creativity.  I was impressed with a few Dukies who used whiteboards as signs, wiping off old messages and replacing them with new ones throughout the game.  Other favorites: “Tonight’s Menu: Roast Hokie with a Side of Stuffing” (in reference to their bird-like mascot); “My Parents ARE Proud of Me!” (in reference to the Tech coach’s remarks about Duke parents paying big $$$$ only for the kids to live the aforementioned tent city); and, of course, the Crazy Towel Guy – an institution!

We know all about divided loyalties...

There he goes! The Crazy Towel Guy is on his feet!

4.  Every game feels like you’re watching the world’s best high school team play for a championship – at least, judging by the crowd’s enthusiasm.  If you’re my Facebook friend, I’ll try to post some video there!

Sink it!

5.  Our basketball team kicks pretty much everyone’s tushies, pretty much all of the time.  Gotta appreciate always having something to cheer about!

Now, if we could just get a super-friendly alum to let us into the Duke-Carolina game…
