We’re supposedly experiencing December, but in North Carolina, there’s no such thing as a White Christmas, and truly inclement weather is a rarity. This means that organizers of Raleigh’s Winterfest have the added challenge of maintaining an outdoor ice rink and man-made sledding slopes in the South.
On Thursday, Harold and I are going out on the town to take advantage of a special “Date and Skate” promotion that includes dinner deals at several area restaurants in addition to discounted rink tickets and free carriage rides. We’ll miss Sunday’s sledding ramp extravaganza, but this picture should give you the idea:
If your holiday season schedule is already packed, never fear – the rink and many other Winterfest attractions run through the end of January.
