5 Things I’m Loving This Week

#1) My new rain loafers from Barefoot Tess. So much better than clunky rain boots that get sweaty and uncomfortable about an hour after you put them on and it decides to become a beautiful, sunny day.  I have size 11 feet, so it’s also nice that Barefoot Tess specializes in shoes that fit both me and your neighborhood drag queen.  Plus, as a bonus, rubber loafers are practically Noodle-proof, although where’s there’s a will to destroy, we’re sure there’s a way.

#2) Trader Joe’s scrumptious new peanut vinaigrette.  So far, I’ve used it on salads, dumplings, and stir-fry, all to pleasing effect. There’s something very satisfying about multi-functionality.

#3)  Sharing playlists through the magic of the Internet. Do you want to take a little study break to the tune of mostly ridiculous music from the late ’90′s?  I have generously made that opportunity available to you for the bargain price of free at http://8tracks.com/mixes/65724.

#4) Online video conferencing for up to 20 people.  TokBox, similar to Skype, is a free way to video chat, but with some extra functionalities, including the ability to have a split screen convo with all of your friends, just like in the movies!

#5) The 12 Days of Christmas decorations at the The Carolina Inn. They’ve really upped the ante when it comes to holiday spirit.  The two turtledoves in their display are real.  Hard to beat that.

It’s almost Christmas!!  One more paper to turn in, plus a few more days at my job, and then our whirlwind tour of the East Coast begins – followed by a relaxing week in the Caribbean.  Am I looking forward to this?  Will be my winter break be vastly superior to those unfortunate souls freezing their patooties off in places that are far less warm and wonderful?  Am I doing a little dance of glee around my apartment?  Need I say more?
