E) All of the Above

Having just completed the last multiple choice exam of my career, I’m contemplating what to do next:

a) Throw Noodle one of her new fancy toys we bought for her last weekend, because we love our dog more than budgeting money for groceries.

b) Lie on couch until Glee comes on.  Watch Glee.  Get my favorite song from the episode off iTunes and play on repeat.  See how long it takes Harold to reach his breaking point.  (Usually he holds out until I start singing along.)

c) Go check out Duke’s weekly jazz lounge event – this time, it’s at the Coffee House, because of a Very Special Act coming all the way from New York City.   At Duke, I used to work at Trinity Cafe, which was a delighful spot  to purchase a caffeinated beverage or sugary confection.  However, the real Coffee House was a place where students went to listen to bands like “It’s Just Vanity”* or “Hope for agoldensummer”**, or “Resentful Elite”***.   I always thought that the students who hung out there were sort of insufferable, but perhaps I was never soulful or angst-filled enough to fit in.   We’ll see what the atmosphere’s like tonight – all I know is that’s it’s BYOB, and this is one of the FAQ on their website:

Q: I have a crush on one of your super-hot staff members. How can I get in contact?

A:  http://raleigh.craigslist.org/cgi-bin/personals.cgi?category=mis

And, of course, there’s always option D….

d) Start completing the take-home portion of the exam.  Sigh.

* The actual name of  a band performing at the Coffee House this fall.
** Also a real band.  We’re sure they’re lovely.
***  Not a real band.  As far as we know.
