Laura and I drove to the center of UNC’s campus at 9 p.m. on Friday and came across a telling contrast between these two great institutions.
(For background, a major difference between us: I was going to see The Hangover at the student union, and Laura was going to check out books for her big research paper on something or other.)
And now for the major difference between the campuses: while Duke’s main library is open until midnight on Friday and Saturday, the main UNC library closes at 8. And in a perhaps-related event, I was one of the hundreds of people turned away from the already-filled movie theater.
