With Halloween and the goodness of fall around the corner, there was only one way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Pumpkin shopping! Our two bucks got us an excellent specimen from Maple View Farms, a local institution in nearby Hillsborough.
On our hayride we met Farmer Bob, who keeps about 140 cows, milked three times daily to help produce delicious ice cream, which you can get fresh at his nearby store. We recommend the Monster Mash, if you’re into seasonal blends.
Out of about 50 people on the ride, we were predictably the only ones without kids. Number of balloon animals popped: 3. Number of times we gave little Billy, who was quite the expert kicker, a dirty look: 5. Number of times “Cow!” was shouted in our ears: 700. Number of children we plan to have in the near future: Exponentially decreasing.

Milking time creates a traffic jam.

The noble chicken.

I waited patiently in line behind a two-year old to pet the goats.

We found out that Momma cows get two days maternity leave before going back to milking. Their calves hang out in these "condos".
