Something I never heard in New York City

Rainbow fields“Which soccer field are we on?”

I had my first soccer practice with the Rainbow Soccer League, a Chapel Hill-based rec league. And as you can see, there were 13 fields to practice on.

Keep in mind, when I played soccer in Manhattan, it was on a blacktop adjacent to the UN building. I think I saw five actual soccer fields in seven years in New York, and only one of them was grass.

So it was a welcome change to see two grass fields together, let alone 13.
